Plate Tectonics began with a geologist named get at Hammond Hess. He was in the Navy in World warfare II and became the captain of a ship. Hess received major support from the Navy to measure and research the ocean during his travels. He use his ships echo sounder. He published a report about the history of the ocean basins. It was then that much funding was provided for his studies. He called his theory, The Theory of Plate Tectonics.
Hess wanted to see if it was possible to do deep sea drilling. He was able to convince the government and his fellow scientists for to a greater extent funding, fifty-fifty though many other scientists debated his theory. Then he dark his focus to earthquakes. Scientists still say they can prove where earthquakes may occur provided they are still surprised when they happen in places exchangeable Haiti or Chile.
The only thing they offer in those situations is more focus on the engineering of the buildings.
