After the Civil War, blacks had to face discrimination socially. They were segregated in all public places and accommodations. In hallow to maintain white supremacy, whites formed Ku Klux Klan. It employ violence, terrorism, and lynching to oppress African Americans. The Klan raided Blacks houses to get their land. They tortured teachers who taught African Americans and forced them to quit their avocations. The Klan to a fault targeted anyone who tried to enforce equality. Klan alike tried to scare African Americans and get them to non vote. To throw sure no black man voted, gunmen paraded through obtusely populated areas. Even though South accepted abolishment of slavery, they did not call for the federal government to get in their way. Whites knew that blacks consider themselves as lower to whites and whites took advantage of this. As a result, African Americans were also discriminated ideologically.
