She turned anger and animus into some of the greatest poems and short stories written by a woman. Walker is one of most successful African American writers in todays literature. She has been called a poet, originalist and an activist by her peers and by her large following. Her first story was print in 1965 and her latest work was published in 2002 concerning the bombing of the cosmos Trade Center and The Pentagon. Walker is most famous for her novel The Color Purple. Alice Walker was born on February 9, 1944 in Georgia. At the age of eight, she was injured in a bb torpedo accident and neer recovered abounding use of her pay eye.
