As I head orthogonal through the basement door, I see about heptad ants speeding across the sidewalk like little hot wheel race cars. When they make it to the end of the sidewalk, the ants disappear into the kind of lengthy, thick, green, grass. Compared to the size of the ants, the grass looks like the Giant redwood trees of the Sequoia National Park. This would not be a good date to cut the grass due to the fact that it is still die from yesterday’s heavy rain. Mowing would be a very difficult task. I can hear a eternal shoveling sound coming from the alley, along with two men laughing, and a dog barking faintly in a yard get on down the street. The shoveling sound reminds me of a scene from the movie “Bride of Chucky,” where Chucky and his bride, Tiffany, gain a couple hostage, and make them dig up a body in the cemetery to find an amulet.
Walking westward from my house I can see the staff lay caboodle of Calumet College Preparatory School. Next to the parking lot is the track field which runs the remaining length of the block. Eight laps nigh the track is equivalent to a mile. Besides the recent overhaul last year, the school itself looks to be very old. It takes up the constitutional block in length and width, stands about four stories in height, and has a large chimney that towers close to 100 feet in the air. The designs on the building make it appear more like a museum than a school. I notice a neighbors’ bm door decorated with red, white, and blue, ribbons.
