Poetry Analysis

In the poesy The lamp chimney pass overer from Songs of Innocence by William Blake, Blake writes ab erupt his character undergoing an inner change. Blake shows the awakening of his character with use of structure, sound devices, and tone.

The structure of this verse form is the uniform as most. Blake uses devices like parallelism. For example, So your chimneys I sweep, and in soot I sleep. (Line 4). Blake uses sound devices in his poem, including alliteration. alliteration is the repetition of consonant sounds in words that are constrictive to one another. Chimneys I sweep and in soot I sleep. (Line 4). The reoccurring sound is the s sound. He also uses repetition. Could scarcely cry, cry out! Weep! Weep! Weep! (Line 3).
