Research Proposal

RESEARCH PROPOSAL ASSESSING ABOVE AND BELOW GROUND CARBON IN SYCAMORE AND ALDER PLOTS IN HENFAES EXPERIMENTAL SITE 1. Introduction Carbon separatism is one of the most important questions in modern day environmental acquaintances, due to increasing recognition of impacts of human bring forth climate change. Global climate change, along with the increased emissions of CO2, is forcing science in a quest for new, cost efficient ways of deoxycytidine monophosphate mitigation. Among the various ecosystems, tone ecosystems have been widely recognize as a snow sink and as an economically efficient way of trapping the carbon, whether it is in an above reason biomass or in the soil. Determination of carbon quantity in different type of forests is necessary step in ordain to predict the amount of carbon that can be secluded by forest and pooled in the forest biomass or forest soil. There is an obvious need for further research in order to find which tree species act best in carbon sequestration, which leads us to our current research question and hypothesis. This research will try to assess the above and below shew carbon in sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus L.) and alder tree (Alnus rubra Bong.) sites at Henfaes experimental site. 2. Research question What is the quantity of above and below ground carbon in alder and sycamore site at dumbness 400 stems ha-1? 3.

Hypotheses Null Hypothesis: There is no material difference in above ground and below ground carbon quantity in equally dense forest of alder and sycamore. 4. Methods As shown in the Figure 1, there are triad blocks with different water tables. We will select two plots (red alder and sycamore) with density of 400 stems ha-1 in each block purposively. The endurance of tree will be done by self-opinionated sampling to ensure that no neighboring plots or species was affecting the growth form of measured trees and the soil of that site as shown in Figure 2.
