The short fabrication, The Necklace, by Guy De Maupassant, follows the life of a womanhood and her husband living in France in the early 1880s. The woman, Mathilde, is a very materialistic person who is nalways content with anything in her life. Her husband, a lowly clerk in the Ministry of Education, is not a rich man, but he brings home enough to recover by. He enjoys the simpler things in life, yet his wife, Mathilde, cannot. At the beginning of the story, basically zip happens. The narrators interested in telling us about Mathilde. We learn about her back-story, her character, and her unhappiness with her mediocre life. This represents a classic initial situation. The action proper begins when M. Loisel comes home with the invitation to the mythologic ball and Mathilde reacts by having a fit. instantaneously there is a specific line of work: Mathildes now has the best opportunity shes ever had to have a taste of the high life, but she has nothing to wear. That problem sets the rest of the plot in motion. Mathilde solves the first problem when her husband gives her money for a dress. just now then she runs into a second problem: shes needs to have some jewels. Luckily, her booster shot Mme. Forestier is able to provide her with a fabulous diamond necklace.

But now Mathildes been entrusted with something expensive that belongs to someone else and we have the potential for disaster. Mathildes divergence is the most exciting and dramatic moment in the story .Its also the turning point in the plot. Before, the story was a build-up to Mathildes one glorious night with the rich and famous set. Now it transits into a desperate search. The reader has a feeling things ar not going to end well. So the atmosphere is intensifier and the tension rises. After the loss of the necklace, the reader is kept in constant suspense. First, theres the search for the necklace: will it be set in motion?
